                    Trekking

Anybody can trek - as long as you are fit, enjoy the outdoors, and have a sense of adventure. To help you plan, Gurans Travel has divided treks into three categories:

Short treks are one to three-day hikes in the hills around the Kathmandu valley. Little amount of preparation is needed and the trial through the picturesque villages of the valley stay below 2700m.

Low altitude treks are of one to seven-day duration around Pokhara Valley, getting you to Gurung and Magar villages and closer to Nepal's central mountains but without exceeding 3000m.

High altitude treks may last form 7 to 28 days through 14 to 21 days is more common. They take you close to the highest mountains in the world, to remote Tibeto Buddhist villages, and may entail the crossing of over 5000m high passes.

 
Some important information:
 
Trekking Permits are not essential for the General Trekking areas such as; Annapurna Region, Everest Region, Langtang Region and Rara area. However, National Park or Conservation Area entrance permit must be obtained from the concerned Govt. office in Kathmandu before commencing the trek.
 
The Normal trekking (in General Trekking areas) can be organized in two different ways according to your choice and convenience;
 
1. FULL-SET CAMPING TREK 
Full-set camping trek arrangement means overnight stay will be in tents; in this trekking arrangement there will be leader trek guide, assistant trek guides, cook, assistant cooks, porters to carry your personal baggage as well as all trek equipment such as sleeping tents, mattresses, kitchen/dining tent, toilet tent, kitchen utensils, cooking fuel, food provisions etc as per size of group., taken from Kathmandu.
 
2. TEA-HOUSE TREK
Tea-House trek arrangement is not only economic but also eco-friendly way of doing trekking is called Tea-House trek (Lodge trek), which allows you to be more in contact with local people as well as other trekkers from different countries. In this arrangement overnight halts with dinner and breakfast will be in Tea-Houses (Lodges) and lunches in local restaurants en-route. In this trek arrangement there will be trek guide and porters to carry your personal belongings.
